First Day Off
I made Andrew take today off. He looks fine, but he can’t be; the guy has been continually focused on editing this movie for months now, and it’s mind-numbingly complex, and it’s not easy being face to face all day and night with people as unhappy as the folks who live in Jigsaw’s World. Andrew has focused on the last ten minutes of the film for over a week now, and to put it subtly, it’s noisy. Strangers from other companies along the hallway have been coming up to me and asking, “What the hell is going on in there?” By the end of the night my mind is screaming, and I’m sure Andrew’s is as well.
Yesterday we passed a major turning point, and that’s the real reason we’re taking the day off. My confidence went through the roof when we sat and watched our latest work last night, and I couldn’t sleep for a new reason: I can’t wait for people to see the movie. I think it stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of the SAWs, and while I’m the least objective person imaginable when it comes to this, I think we’ve all done something really special.
The next step is showing it to the producers. This is a process that strikes terror in the heart of many directors, and I’m no exception. But if I’m correct, they’re going to be very pleased indeed…

haha i cannot imagine the day off works in any way. i mean you guys have a day off but your thoughts will still be at the project so you won’t sleep well

June 7th, 2009 at 1:36 pm
Thank you so much for keeping us updated. I’m really looking forward to VI and I’m sure that it will blow us away. It’s also really good to know how much you get physically and psychologically involved in making this movie. This clearly shows me that you have a vision and are a great filmmaker.
June 7th, 2009 at 1:57 pm
Thanks for the update =)
I’ll wait for the movie, because the best things in life take time
June 7th, 2009 at 2:02 pm
Kevin’s passion is what gives me hope. He’s not just focusing on one part like the traps or twist. He loves the whole thing like its his baby and it sounds like he put his best care into every part of it. I just know Saw VI is going to be amazing. When you have someone like Kevin creating it, there is no doubt.
June 7th, 2009 at 2:05 pm
Hmmm… now I realize how hard is this job, being a editor.
Kevin just as a friend suggest: if you can’t sleep at night because you can’t wait to see the fans reaction seeing this movie… why don’t you realease it a little earlier? You’re the director AND editor after all…
I know this sounds stupid; VERY stupid but then the fans are gonna be amazed of your work and then you can sleep calm at nights. O:)
June 7th, 2009 at 3:27 pm
Saw VI is ready to show the producers? Wonderful! I know you and Andrew have put your hearts and souls into this movie. Please let us know what they think–not all the details, I know you can’t tell us specifics. Oh, and maybe you guys should edit with the door closed–no spoilers for the people down the hall!
June 7th, 2009 at 6:59 pm
AWESOME KEVIN!
I agree that 1 picture wouldn’t hurt, even if it is just a picture of a “Blood Puddle” on the floor (of course with Grey Matter included)

I can´t wait, too.

Can’t wait! I know it’s gonna be awesome. Can’t wait to see my old friends Jigsaw and Amanda and Hoffman getting their hands dirty all over again!

Hey Kev! So glad I can come here and see the progress of the movie through your eyes. SO can’t wait for October! AND I have a question…that, not sure if it will get answered, so I guess it’s more of a “request”…a lot of us fans were a little upset by the new “Jason X type” title card they used for SAW V, and was wondering if we could go back to the way it was done with I-IV…that was so much better, and it fits the feel of the movies perfectly. Just a request! Don’t know how much control you have over that part…
Love SAW, love you, can’t wait for October! Hang in there!

KEVIN!!!!
Congratulations! It’s Kelly from “Jungle to Jungle” (god, what a horrible way to jog a friend’s memory) – I am so happy and excited for you. I have spent the last two nights reading every entry, and both Tomas and I just want to say congratulations.
Man, you have worked so hard for this – really, finding this out has mad me so happy.
I wrote you up on one of my blogs. Hope it is not too sappy.

Hey Kelly, in your blog the title with Kevin there is a kind of mix up
It’s Saw VI not Saw IV
“He deserves every bit of success he gets. God knows, he has earned it. ” second this big time!!!

Lol – thank you – my husband took a look at my post and said, “Ummm…..I know we’ve always joked that you are numerically dyslexic, but I didn’t realize it applied to Roman Numerals, too!”
I was horrified, lol. It is fixed, and thanks for noticing.
And yes, no one I have ever met in my 18 years as an assistant deserves a break as much as Kevin.
Score one for the good guys!
June 18th, 2009 at 10:00 pm

June 19th, 2009 at 1:22 am
Hey Kev, just wondering are the character names on IMDb accurate? And when are we gonna find out at least something about Tanedra Howard’s role in this?
June 20th, 2009 at 12:25 pm
Hello, Kevin. I have a question, where we will see an official site of Saw-VI? For the 5th part last year internet site was open at the same time…
June 24th, 2009 at 12:19 pm

What IS going on at House of Jigsaw? I haven’t been able to find out. Did Lionsgate really shut it down without warning?

It wouldn’t surprise me as they have already shut down their own official forums without any warning… and they have recently closed the official websites for the first four Saw movies.

Yeah! We need him! He must come back to the franchise to continue his line. Dr. G’s fate is the largest SAW question today.

We have recreated it here (exact copy with a few security upgrades and new features):
